Vintage Design
A pair of armchairs or fauteuils ‘a’ l’Étrusque” from the period of the French Directoire /ca. 1795-1799) in the style of the famous French cabinetmaker Henri Jacob (1753-1824, master from 1779): semi-oval seat with conical, slightly backward curved backrest; partially upholstered narrow armrests resting on delicate balusters. The front legs baluster-shaped with partial fluting and rosettes, the back legs saber-shaped “à l’Étrusque” curved backwards. Original white, green trimmed frame with patina. Reinforcement of the seat (See photo) later.
