Amazing and rare Art Deco Modernist cabinet. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak and original oak veneer base with two doors. Both doors have solid macassar ebony knobs. Rare because of its unusual design! In good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco cabinet is also known in The Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known Haagse School architects are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
